We’ll explore how to build effective protocols using tools like Startvac and UBAC, and discuss the role of vaccine timing, herd risk profiling, and cow-side hygiene.

Led by Dr Sophie Taylor, BVSc, a dairy vet with extensive experience in mastitis management, the session will include:

• A review of current best practices in mastitis control

• Guidance on selective dry cow therapy and internal teat sealants

• Discussion of pathogen-specific strategies, including Staph. aureus, Strep. uberis, and coliform infections

• Case studies, exploring outcomes from real New Zealand herds

• A practical look at on-farm application, product handling, and farmer communication.
